I Drove on the 401

I have to say that I was a little nervous about driving in TO, especially on the 400 series. But it was a breeze. I also now understand why Jeff says that TO drivers are the worst :). There are a lot of good drivers, we just seem to notice all the bad ones. I'm sure some drivers out there would say the same of Jeff and I. But overall it was easy driving.

I picked up my sister at her home and we went to North York (where she works) to have lunch and for Alysia and I to meet her co-workers.

I don't have to much to do today. I just have to pick up my aunt, and drive my cousin to her dentist appointment.

Take care eveyone and May the Lord bless each and everyone of you, like he is blessing me.

My first weekend in TO

Sorry it's taken so long to write in my blog. I have been busy and I really don't like using other computers, unless they are as good as mine :).

Well on Friday Dee treated me to Roti and we hanged out at her house till my uncle picked me up. My aunt had cooked my favorite soup for me. Even Alysia had some soup.
On Saturday I went to the Maranatha spanish church. They rent rooms from The World Vision center. I took lots of pictures. I then invited myself over to the Flores for lunch. I spent the rest of the day at the Flores and I also slept over there that night. I got a ride the next moring to meet Jeff at the airport.
I have not been mentioning any names, because I'm afraid that I would spell them all wrong.

Once I got Jeff's winter coat, and dropped him off at terminal two, Jannett and her boyfriend Jorge gave me a ride to Sharmilla's house (sorry if I'm spelling it all wrong). I spent the rest of the day shopping with Sharmilla for winter boots (I should not have left if for so late in the season, the mall was a mad rush).

Some of the things I have done this past few days is watch GiGi (one of my favorite movies), read Eldest ( a book i have been wanting to read since spring 2004) and have Bubble Tea (hmmm).

The bad new in all this weekend was that my uncles mother passed away. She lived in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua (Central America). My uncle found out on Sunday night. He made all his plans and left this morning for Nicaragua. I was supposed to stay with Pam and Melvin Tolson starting this friday, but I have decided to wait till my uncle comes back (which is next wednesday). My aunt does not have her full license yet, so I offered to drive her to work and anywhere else she needs to go.

So that has been my days so far in Toronto. Alysia has been doing well also. She plays shy with people at first, but once she gets to know them better, she is all over them.

I'M HERE, YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I'm finally here. I thank God for a good flight, and for providing Junior for a ride :). I don't really have anything else to post. But check out my blog in the next few days for info on my life in TO.

1 More Night

I can't wait, I'm getting so excited.

Today I have the car, so I can run around and do all my errands.
I almost broke my leg today. I went to get something from my neighbour and her step was frozen, I slipped and I landed on my leg. But luckely once the pain went away, nothing was broken. I might just have a lovely bruise.

2 More Sleeps

Yesterday was a very boring day. We had lots of rain and lots of wind. Luckely today is a much nicer day :). Alysia and I will be going to the YMCA for her playgroup (we get a ride with my neighbour, who also goes there with her son). Apart from that nothing to new in my life.

Hope you are all having a nice day. And may God bless each and everyone of you.

4 more sleeps :)

Hello everyone. I have so much to do this week, and I will probably leave it all for Thursday :P.
Yesterday I found out I actually fit into a shirt that I have not fit into for more than 4 years. The picture on the far left is me now. The other picture is me on my honeymoon in August 2001, wearing the shirt. I still have all the weight, but somehow I now fit into the shirt (a little tight, but hey it closes).
Tonight I was supposed to take Alysia to swimming class, but I have decided to go help out with Operation Christmas child. I did it last year and really enjoyed it. A church group is going tonight. Jeff will be helping on Friday. We will be checking each shoebox to make sure they are all full, and that it does not contain anything it should not. Moncton is the processing center for all the shoeboxes in the maritimes. It takes days to go through all the thousands of boxes being sent, and also a lot of volunteers.

What a smart child I have

Alysia is getting too good at the computer. She is not even 3 years old yet. We have a password lock on the computer, just so she won't ruin the computer. Today Jeff tested her skills (or maybe it's her memory). He typed the password in for her, and then told her to go to her games (www.uptoten.com, where she is premium member). This is what Alysia did : double clicked on the internet explorer icon, clicked on favorite, then open up her folder (Alysia's stuff), then out of all the items listed in her folder, she clicked on the UPTOTEN website. Once she opened the website, she clicked on premium login and she was in her games site. Jeff did not help her once. He tested her again later and she did the same thing, smart kid.

Pics of my Hair :)

For those of you waiting to see what my hair looks like, here are the pics. I only got a trim, so it's not that big a change.

Me ready for church

Flavia and Me

6 more sleeps and I will be in TO. Dee I better not gain 10 pounds, it takes me eternity to lose even 2 (this does not mean I will not eat)

About my haircut

If you want to see my new haircut, you will have to wait till Sunday's Blog (or maybe Saturday's blog). I will have used the flat iron on it by then :). I will also have all my makeup on :P. If you just want to see pics of me, go check out my new album in my website (there is a link at the right hand corner). The album is titled The Robichaud Family. I plan to put up a mix of pictures in this album and to keep it more recent. The other albums are more to see the past, this album will be to see the present. Now don't you wish there was one that showed us the future :).

New Haircut

I got my haircut yesterday. Not that much, just a trim to make it look nicer. I have to say that ever since I moved to Moncton I have not been able to find a hairdresser who will blowdry my hair properly. I even told the lady last night I wanted my hair to be blowdryed with a round brush. She started that way, and when I was not looking switched to a flat brush. She said that the brush is made of a ceramic, that when it heats up it acts like a flat iron. She finish up with the round brush, but for me it was too late. Yes my hair did look good, but not as good as it could have looked. The same goes for my eyebrows getting waxed. They just don't listen to what I want. They give me something else. Poor me, I have had to resort to trying to do my own eyebrows (did not come out that bad).

Jeff was saying last night that I might not be able go get preggo as easily :). That I have used up all my egg, etc., etc. Poor man. I told him that he better pray I'm still fertile, otherwise we will have to adopt (Jeff is not comfortable with the idea of adoption, for himself, not for others). He promised me two children, and I plan to have to have two children.

Dee I asked Jeff if he like island food and he said he likes their spicy food (not roti). Like I said yesterday a steak and potatoes man.

Hi Elena

It seems you are the only one reading :). So I decided to personalize this post.

Remember how I said in a previous blog that jeff chose puppy. Well he changed his mind :). So no I'm not preggo, but I might be in the future. And don't tell others what I wrote. If they want to know they will have to come and read it.

Alysia is doing great, but we are both very bored right now. We have snow for the first time. But it will all be melting soon.

Take care sis and may God bless you.

And if anyone else is reading this blog, well at least say hello :) (you can comment on my post or just say hello Marta).

10 more day :)

In just 10 days Iwill be in Toronto. I can't wait to see my family and old friend. My father-in law spent the weekend in moncton. He stayed with us. It was nice to have company. My in-laws and I decided to write out our x-mas list. This way people don't have to guess to much about what we would like for gifts :). My family in Nicaragua will buy each other the gifts and we will pay them for the gifts (this way it's still a suprise).

I have some interesting news to share, but I will post it in a future blog (just to see how many of you are actually reading :) ).

Alysia is doing better in her swimming class, but still does not like water anywhere near her face.

Hormones, hormones...

If you are a woman you will understand all about it. If you are a man, probably not. I find that at a certain time of the month I start to be less patient, grumpy, irritable, and depressed (my husband would say this is all the time, but we all know how wrong men can be). I finally clue in to the fact and realize it's that time of the month again. I breathe a sigh of relief since it means there is a reason why I have been behaving and feeling like this. But I sure wish it only happened once a year or less. But today I woke up in a happier frame of mind :). I think it's the fact that the weekend is coming and I get to be with others. I am very much a social creature and being home all week with minimal outside contact is not good for me.

Alysia my poor darling is still struggling with pooping in the potty. She sleeps only in underwear (no accidents yet) and goes to the potty just fine for peeing. O well we just have to keep trying. At times like this it's when I wish children came potty trained :).

Counting Down the Days

I can't wait for November 25th to get here :). The days are moving too slowly for me.

Alysia is learning her letters and numbers. I can tell you one thing, I could never work as a teacher, I'm just not cut out for it. Another great thing is that Alysia now goes to sleep wearing underwear, not diapers.

I have to tell you that being a housewife without a car is a very boring life sometimes. I have lots of friends, but I need to spend money to visit them :(. But I have a feeling next year will be a little more busy. At church I will be the Beginners/kindergarden teacher. I also do the children's church program once a month and I have just been asked to be the head deconess for next year. I wish I could pass the responsibilities to other people who are more qualified and closer to the Lord. But I tell my self that in some of them I am the more qualified for the (the kid's stuff), and this will also push me to make sure I do read my bible more and pray more. How can I tell others about God, if I don't know him myself.

At home next year it will still be the same. Care for Alysia, clean my home, cook (sometimes) etc., etc. Time just keeps on moving, slowly but surely.

The end of the world

I was watching a movie yesterday called The Day After Tomorrow. I'm sure most of you have seen it. I started to reflect on how the movie is like life right now. We have so many disasters happening every single day. As I was watching the movie I felt so anxious to try to warn others about the end times and God's glorius appearing. But then reality sets in and I realize how dificult it is to talk about God to people who don't even feel the need for him (this does not mean I won't talk about it). I must pray that the Lord will send me people open to hearing about him, so that I may tell them :).
There is a great series (5 nights) that was done by Shawn Bunstra (the director of It Is Written) called THE APPEARING. If you can get your hands on the dvd, I recommend you see it and share it with others. We ordered the dvd's but they have not arrived yet.

On a lighter note, I just wanted to complain how in this age of communication it's soo hard to get a hold of some people (even though they have cell phones, email, home phones etc., etc.)

Have a nice day and may God bless you.

Puppy or Baby :)

I have been telling jeff we should get a puppy, but he doesn't want to. I told him to chose one, baby or puppy. I can bug him about one of them till he gives him, so he has to choose. He choose puppy.
Alysia and I were in a pet store today and we saw some very cute dogs :). But if we ever got one it would be from the Animal shelter. They wanted from $600-1000 for the puppies ( but they did come with all they vaccines, etc, etc.). Alysia would definitely love a puppy. But who know if we will get one.

I found out this Saturday that I can go on a mission trip and bring Alysia with me. Jeff promised that if my chance came up he would help so I could go (money wise). So hopefully sometime next year I will get to go on my first mission trip.

Jeff and I were thinking about how fast Alysia is growing. She will be starting school in 1.5 years. She will be 4.5 when she starts kindergarten.
